I didn't ever have a calling to this as a kid. I didn't watch Rudolph and see Herbie the Elf, and decide that's what I wanted to do or be. It's more along the lines of my dad was an orthodontist, so I was around dentistry and dentists my entire life. He was two things that I probably swore I would never be, a dentist or in the military, and I wound up doing both, and I think both were good decisions.
Two main things. If you could help someone who has an issue that makes them feel uncomfortable with their teeth, and making them feel comfortable, I guess in two ways, whether it's discomfort making them feel comfortable or their self-confidence making them feel comfortable, but I actually get more rewarded by when people are scared of the dentist, and then they come, and then they're like, "That wasn't a big deal after all." Watching them evolve from scared to even sit in the chair when they first see us to actually smiling and laughing, and if they can tell other people about us, those sorts of things. That's the most rewarding thing.
